This short documentary gives a closer look into the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through one of Melbourne’s prominent academies. It explores not just the physical side of the sport, but also the philosophy, discipline and sense of community. I was inspired to make this piece after having trained there for a couple of years myself and wanted to capture the energy, respect and personal growth that define the culture of BJJ. Aside from an additional camera for some of the action shots, this was a solo project from start to finish which put my technical skills and storytelling abilities to the test.
